'Kunstencentrum BELGIE' is the end result of a school assignment. The goal was to redesign the visual identity of an existing cultural organization.
Kunstencentrum BELGIE (‘Art centre BELGIUM’) is a highly alternative and versatile art centre. Because of these characteristics, it was not an option to create the clean, modern look we would expect for a cultural institution. Instead, there was chosen to create a corporate typeface, representing the dynamic character of the art centre. The logo can be written with this typeface. Because the logo can be written, it is also easily adjustable. Therefore, I chose for a dynamic logo, providing the art centre with a set of basic rules to place the different parts of the logo. Because ‘kunstencentrum BELGIE’ dares to be itself, the visual identity uses the typeface in big lettering, on a flashy, daring orange background.
