I'm Mathias Vandenbempt and I'm a 21-year-old graphic design student from Hasselt, Belgium. I am interested in graphic design in general, but have a special interest in corporate identity, font design, and visual communications.
I aim to create clean, practically useful design solutions, with a twist of 'play and fun'.
Kunstencentrum BELGIE

Kunstencentrum BELGIE (‘Art centre BELGIUM’) is a highly alternative and versatile art centre. Because of these characteristics, it was not an option to create the clean, modern look we would expect for a cultural institution. Instead, there was chosen to create a corporate typeface, representing the dynamic character of the art centre. The logo can be written with this typeface. Because the logo can be written, it is also easily adjustable. Therefore, I chose for a dynamic logo, providing the art centre with a set of basic rules to place the different parts of the logo. Because ‘kunstencentrum BELGIE’ dares to be itself, the visual identity uses the typeface in big lettering, on a flashy, daring orange background.

Berlin Kultur Café

Berlin Kultur Café is a fictional, cultural café/museum/studio, which offers a starting point for starting artists.
The goal of the assignment was to create a logo and corporate identity, using fauna or flora, and a particular city. The logo created refers to a flourishing flower, representing the growth the artist will experience. It was then made into a pattern. The chosen city, Berlin, demanded a modern look, but with a special twist.
Includes a logo, letterheads, some business cards and envelopes.
